Benoît Huber is the oldest and heaviest boxer on the Swiss Pro Boxing team. He lives in the Valais region and speaks French. He has found his place in the cruiserweight division, with occasional ventures into heavyweight. Sport runs in his family: his parents were track and field athletes. For Huber, boxing is more than a sport – it is his anchor and structure.
He is considered unconventional, sometimes even stubborn. His career has been equally varied: from a sensational victory at London’s O2 Arena on the undercard of Anthony Joshua to bitter defeats, such as in Australia. He doesn’t fight to maintain a flawless record; for him, challenges, real opponents, and big fights matter more.
Since joining Swiss Pro Boxing, his career has regained stability, with title fights in Switzerland and abroad on the agenda. Huber is in the autumn of his career, yet he aims to give his all – not necessarily to become a world champion, but to look back with pride on his boxing journey.
Outside the ring, he works as a site inspector for Valais entrepreneur Christian Constantin, to whom he also provides personal boxing training. This partnership gives him the flexibility needed to prepare for major fights.
Huber is boxing-obsessed: he thinks, talks, and lives boxing every day. He can appear unorthodox, almost careless, but at his core, he is ambitious and willing to invest everything. For fans, he is the wild card of the team: unpredictable and always capable of a surprise. While he guarantees a show in the ring, privately he is down-to-earth, friendly, and personable.
