The title fight between Benoit Huber and Shcipjon Hoti on Boxing Day 2025 has been cancelled: Huber suffered a bone fracture during his bout in Copenhagen and must take a break.

The Swiss Cruiserweight Championship fight scheduled for Boxing Day 2025 in Bern between Benoit Huber and Shcipjon Hoti has been cancelled. The reason is a nasal bone fracture sustained by Benoit Huber on November 14 during his bout in Copenhagen.
Before agreeing to the Swiss Championship fight, Huber had already accepted a match in Denmark for the EBU Silver Belt and endured several knockdowns in a very intense heavyweight duel. Medical examinations arranged immediately afterward by his team in consultation with the Swiss Boxing Federation—including an MRI—confirmed that there were no injuries affecting Huber long-term, but did verify a nasal fracture that requires him to take a break from competition.
“A cancellation is frustrating for everyone, but especially for the boxers, who have spent weeks preparing specifically for this fight,” says Leander Strupler, promoter of the Boxing Day event. “After Boxing Day, I will discuss with all parties involved whether it is possible to reschedule the fight for a later date, for example at the Stadttheater in Bern.”
