On the occasion of the 50th edition of the Boxing Day, Swiss Pro Boxing will no longer use traditional ring card girls.

Swiss Pro Boxing takes a stand: No more ring card girls at Boxing Day. Starting with this year’s Boxing Day, Swiss Pro Boxing will discontinue the use of traditional ring card girls. As Switzerland’s leading professional boxing promoter, the organization sees it as its responsibility to critically examine longstanding traditions, especially those that conflict with modern values. In an official statement, the promoter emphasized:
"At our events, the focus is on sport – technique, power, speed, and spectacle. Discrimination has no place in sports."
The decision comes at a time when sports organizations worldwide are increasingly emphasizing equality and inclusivity. While show elements will continue to enhance event presentations, the portrayal of women solely as ring card girls is no longer considered appropriate. Round numbers are now displayed digitally, further supporting the move. The change is intended to keep the spotlight firmly on the athletes and their performances.
