Félix Meier wins his eleventh professional fight prematurely. The Lausanner stops the Mexican Diego "Chucky" Gonzalez in the fourth round and travels undefeated to Boxing Day.
Félix Meier (11–0, 8 K.o.) won his eleventh professional fight on Friday, October 23, in Puidoux near Lausanne. The 22-year-old defeated the 21-year-old Mexican Diego "Chucky" Gonzalez (7–6–2, 3 K.o.) by knockout in the fourth round.
Meier controlled the fight from the beginning, even though both boxers landed hard blows in the infight. In the second round, Gonzalez had to go down for the first time. In the fourth round, Meier followed up with hard combinations and ended the fight with a knockout. For the Mexican, it was the first early defeat of his career.
With the victory, Meier climbs further up in the BoxRec world rankings and consolidates his position as the best-ranked Swiss across all weight classes.
The next step follows on December 26: In the main fight of Boxing Day at the Kursaal Arena in Bern, Meier will face Zurich's Alfred Kqira (9–3–0). It's for his first title, the Swiss Superwelterweight Championship.
