Two Styles, Two Career Moments

This fight brings together two very different worlds: on one side Félix Meier, calm and technically skilled, still at the beginning of his professional career; on the other Alfred Kqira, an established fighter known for his uncompromising style.

For the 21-year-old Meier, it will be the first title fight of his professional career. To win, the quietly spoken fighter from Lausanne will have to prove that he can translate his talent into success at national championship level. His technical advantages and boxing precision could become decisive factors.

Kqira, 30, is known for his aggressive approach. The Zurich fighter with Kosovan roots constantly looks for the infight and puts his opponents under physical pressure. Nicknamed “El Chapo”, the 170 cm pressure fighter has already appeared several times at Swiss Pro Boxing events, including at the Stadttheater Bern and Boxing Day 2023.

A Long-Awaited All-Swiss Matchup

“It has always been one of my goals to organize major all-Swiss fights,” said promoter Leander Strupler. “For the fans, these are the most exciting matchups because both fighters are known and nobody knows who is going to win. But these fights are difficult to make because many boxers avoid the risk of losing at home. That’s why both fighters deserve a lot of respect for accepting this challenge.”

Since 1969, Boxing Day has been regarded as the most important boxing event in Switzerland. Since 2017, the event has been organized by Leander Strupler and his company Swiss Pro Boxing. Additional fights for this year’s event at the Kursaal Arena Bern will be announced in the coming months. Tickets are not yet available.
