At this year’s Boxing Day event, Bernese professional Alain Chervet faced the previously unbeaten Chinese boxer Ju Wu. After ten intense and technically compelling rounds, two of the three judges scored the fight in favor of Wu, awarding him the victory by majority decision.

Chervet expressed confidence in his performance: “I felt like I was slightly ahead,” he told Blick. The bout remained balanced for much of the fight, with momentum and dominance constantly shifting between the two fighters. In hindsight, Chervet lacked only a few decisive moments, which ultimately tilted the judges’ scorecards in Wu’s favor.

Despite the narrow loss, Chervet reinforced his reputation as one of Switzerland’s top professional boxers and a formidable contender in the international lightweight division.
